Living the awakened life does not involve the accumulation of new belief systems or ideologies. Much rather does it consist of transcending the world of beliefs.
First, there comes the recognition that a belief is just a thought that we keep on thinking. It is nothing more than that. Just a thought. Once we have this awareness, we are able to simply observe our thoughts with no judgment.
As we observe our thoughts, we cultivate the ability to move beyond them.
Once this occurs, we are no longer trapped inside of a narrow perception consisting of old and repetitive mental patterns, and instead we are able to enter into the realm of experience.
It is only in the realm of experience that transformation can occur.
When we say that we are living the awakened life now, we are indicating that our good does not lie in some imagined future which we may arrive at “someday” – our good is available to us right here and right now.
Cultivating a right-here-right-now mentality allows us to be available and receptive. It allows us to be vehicles through which the creative impulse of the Universe may express and reveal itself fully.
So the practice of living the awakened life now is one of moving beyond beliefs, beyond mere concepts and ideas – and instead cultivating the space within our own awareness in which we will be able to have a very real and powerful experience of the Ineffable.
And then we may observe, with sweet delight, as our lives are transformed into the realm of the miraculous.
And that is because in God’s World miracles are an everyday occurrence. And they are as freely available to us as the very air we breathe.
