Wherever you are right now, take a moment to look around. Carefully take in your surroundings. Just allow your awareness to glide over whatever is before you. And regardless of whether you’re in your home, in an office space, or somewhere out in nature, just allow yourself to become aware that, even though it seems as if what surrounds you is separate from you in time and space, this is, in fact, nothing more than a perceptual artifact.

The truth is nothing is separate from you. You are connected to all that is. Wisdom traditions have told us this for centuries, and science is now starting to catch up with it.

As you look around it also appears as if the objects that surround you are solid. Yet this too is not the case. Solidity, as any quantum physicist would tell us, is an illusion. Everything that appears solid is actually vibrating at different speeds and frequencies, and all of it is part of a field of vibrant energy which science has called the unified field. It is out of this field that everything originates, and so we might surmise that this field possesses a form of intelligence. And it is within this unified field of intelligence that all of us live, move, and have our being. It is merely our physical faculty of sight that is translating the vibrations within this field into what appears to us as objects that seem separate in space and time. One might say it is all a big cosmic magic trick!

  • Moving Into Your Soul Space

So in actuality, you are separate from nothing, and even though you cannot see it with your eyes, you are intimately connected to this field of intelligence that animates and permeates everything in existence. This intelligence is what is beating your heart right now. It is the same intelligence that causes grass to grow, that turns acorns into oak trees, and that transforms a little cocoon into a beautiful butterfly.

Though you cannot see, smell, hear, taste, or touch it, you do have the ability to tune into this intelligence, which is your Source, by simply making it a habit to occasionally withdraw your attention from the five senses, and instead turn inward.

It is through turning within that you may access what we’ve referred to as your Soul Space – the sacred space where your I Am Presence resides. This space is beyond thought, beyond belief systems, and beyond mental concepts and labels. And it is in this sacred space where you will begin to develop a very real sense that not only is this field of intelligence more real than the world your physical senses perceive, you will begin to realize and feel, in a very powerful way, that you are precious beyond measure to this intelligence. In fact, you are loved and adored by this intelligence. We might say that it is madly in love with you. Not because of anything you’ve done or accomplished, but simply because you exist!

Just take a moment, if you will, to take a deep breath.

Just allow yourself to feel into what was said.

Really take a moment to feel it.

You are adored beyond measure!

You are precious beyond measure!

Feel that in this moment!

Now, there are several names we may use when we talk about this intelligence. We may refer to it as Spirit, Infinite Intelligence, Divinity, Source, our Highest Self; we may speak of God, Allah, Tao, Brahman, or any of the other names that have been given to that which is ultimately unnamable.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter what we call it. What’s more important is being aware of it, and having a very real sense of it, not as a concept, not as an idea that we can either believe in or not, but as an experience.

So, with that being said, allow yourself to also realize that this intelligence, this Presence which is your Source, is everywhere present in Its fullness. It is omnipresent, which means everywhere present fully. So right where you are at this moment, all of the Presence, all of the Power, all of the Love, and all of the Beauty is. Not some of it. Not just a little part of God. All of it. All of God is where you are.

You are in the fullness of God, and the fullness of God is in you.

There is no separation, no place where you end and God begins. And that makes you an individualized center of awareness within Divine Mind. You are made in the spiritual image and likeness of Divinity, which means you are essentially one hundred percent pure God. You possess the same creative faculties and Divine Qualities that are found in the mind of the Ineffable, and you are here so that you may express and reveal these Qualities in full according to your unique pattern of perfection. In other words, there is something extraordinary within you waiting to be uncovered. You are truly magnificent. And you possess gifts, talents, and capacities that are far beyond what you may have thought was possible for you.

And so with this awareness it becomes easy to see why it is that, in every moment, in every instant, you have the ability to tune into your Source for guidance, insight, creativity, new ideas, and whatever else you may require.

You are magnificent. There are gifts, talents, and capacities within you that are far beyond what you may have thought was possible for you.

  • As You Believe Will It Be Done Unto You

Divine Intelligence can only meet us at the level of our expectancy. You may recall, I had mentioned the scriptural reference “As you believe will it be done unto you” in Part One of this series last week. It is worth repeating, because it is one of the most powerful statements of truth ever made.

You see, Divine Intelligence is always ready to guide us, to give us whatever we’ve asked for. Yet it is up to us to cultivate such knowingness, such a level of faith and expectancy, so that our answered prayers will demonstrate with ease and grace in our experience. “Ask and it will be given. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened.”

So with this awareness as our foundation, we may then begin to realize or, in fact, remember that we are here for a reason. We didn’t just accidentally drop by, we’re not here because we fell from a cloud, we are here because we have something to share, something to give. We are here because we set out to make a difference on this planet at this particular time in human history. We are here to further our own Soul’s evolution as well as positively impact everyone we come into contact with.

Now, these things we’ve set out to do when we were born into this realm of time and space is what we’ve come to refer to as our dreams, or the larger vision for our life – which brings us back to the primary focus of this series.

Now, this is called DARE to Have a Vision. And that is because we should never be afraid of a dream that may seem a little big. In fact, if your dream’s making you just a tad bit uncomfortable, rejoice! Celebrate! That just means it’s perfect! Our dreams should be stretching us, our vision is meant to challenge us. And that is because our vision is nothing less than a catalyst towards us becoming the next highest embodiment of the greatest version of ourselves.

So with that being said, let us stretch together, let us reach for greatness together, let us no longer hold back and instead live the truly extraordinary lives we came here to live. Let us make a difference on this planet!

In the next installment we will be looking a bit more at the practicality of things. And, in fact, you will find some simple and easy to implement tools you can begin to put to use immediately. These tools will help you tune into your vision as well as gain clarity, and they will help you stay the course and ensure you are receptive to that which is seeking to emerge in your life.

So keep an eye out for Part Three of Dare to Have a Vision. And before allowing the affirmative declarations at the end of this article to take root in your awareness, take a moment to contemplate this beautiful quote:

“You see things as they are; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?’”

George Bernard Shaw

  • Embodiment:

I give thanks that I am now open and receptive to the highest vision for my life. I release any and all thoughts of fear, doubt, and worry, and I accept that there is a great vision, a unique pattern of perfection for my life held within the mind of God. It is to this vision that I turn my attention; it is to this dream that I devote the entirety of my being. I am able. I am willing. I am available. I am receptive. With the understanding that I am to use my unique set of gifts, skills, talents, and sensibilities to make a mighty difference on this planet, I give thanks that this joyous truth is now beginning to take root in my awareness. I give thanks that the perfect unfolding of my vision is now taking place in my life. I give thanks for all that I have, and I joyously anticipate what is to come. Life is good. MY Life is good. I feel it. And I allow it to be. And so it is. Amen.

In order for us to live at our highest potential, it is important that we have a larger vision for our lives – and moreover, that we’re actually tuned into this particular vision, which is nothing less than a unique pattern of perfection held within the mind of God.

And instead of vision, we may also use the word “dream.” Dream and vision are interchangeable here as they both point not only to the limitless possibilities that are seeking to express in our lives, but they also point towards our very reason for being here on this planet at this particular time in human history.

I recently wrote about the topic of dreams in another article, which you can find here. But just to briefly recap, what I basically pointed out was that your dreams do not come from your rational mind. So often people tend to think that a dream is just some lofty concept of how we’d like our lives to be. So while you may come across some people that might support your dream, there will invariably be those that will tell you something along the lines of, “You’ve got to be realistic.” Or “You better have a good backup plan in case it doesn’t work out.” Or “That’s cute, but maybe you should just play it safe.” Or any other of the countless versions of these kind of statements.

But what these well-meaning individuals do not realize is that, as I’ve indicated, our dreams do not come from our rational mind. Our dreams come to us straight from our Source. Our dreams come to us from the Ineffable Love Intelligence that governs the universe and that permeates everything in existence. They are Divine Gifts that have been imparted upon us. Or, as I like to put it, our dreams are our Soul talking to us, reminding us of what we set out to do when we were born into this realm of time and space.

And as that realization begins to take hold in our awareness, we begin to see that inherent within the dream itself are the very mechanics for its fulfillment.

Now, this is a big one. A really big one. Huge, actually! In fact, I would suggest you pause and allow yourself to just take that in for a moment. Move into your Soul Space, and allow this particular statement to take root in your awareness:

Inherent within every dream are the very mechanics for its fulfillment.

In other words, there is no question about whether or not a dream is “possible.” The truth is, the dream and what’s required for it to manifest are two sides of the same coin! You could not have the dream if there wasn’t already a way for it to come into your experience.

Walt Disney famously said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” And that is so very true. So with this higher awareness, you are to no longer give thought as to whether or not it can be done, it’s already done in the mind of God! It’s your job to simply open yourself up to it, to make yourself available.

Furthermore, you need not be concerned with how it’s going to happen. The truth is “how” is not your business. Your business is to say “yes!” Your business is to make that sacred declaration that you are going to do what you came here to do. Your business is to make yourself available to that which is seeking to emerge in you, through you, as your very life!

How a particular dream will come true is not your business. Your business is merely to say YES, to make yourself available!

Once you’ve said yes, the Universe will handle the “how.” The Universe is basically saying, “No worries, I’ve got you covered! Are you ready? I’m serious. Are you, like, really ready?”

And your reply to that is to be, “Yes! Yes, I am ready! Yes, I am available! Yes, I am willing! Yes, let’s do this! Bring it on, baby!” And you might want to throw in a whoo-hoo or two. Remember, following your dream is not some hit or miss type endeavor. Following your dream is your joyous and holy responsibility. It’s your declaration to the Universe that you’re going to do what you came here to do, and the world will be a better place because of it.

Now, it’s important to really feel it. Feeling it is the most important part because you’re working with energy here. How you feel is how you vibrate. And how you vibrate determines the energy you’re giving out. And the energy you’re giving out will draw to you more of that same kind of energy. As more of that particular energy comes to you, it begins to coagulate into physical experience.

So your intention is become a vibratory field of such overflowing joy, of such goodness, of such anticipation, that you will spontaneously begin to magnetize more good into your life than you’ve ever imagined! In other words, as you embody the consciousness of your dreams coming true, you will draw to you all the people, all the resources, and all the opportunities that are needed for you to actually have that very experience. This is, of course, why Jesus the Christ advises us that, “When you pray, believe that you have it already, and it will be yours.” Or “As you believe will it be done unto you.”

  • Sometimes you’ve got to rekindle the flame

Sometimes, before we can even get to the part where we’re actively moving towards our dream, we may have to rekindle the flame. This is because a great many people today have been talked out of their dream. They no longer have a grander vision for their lives. And so they have become stuck in whatever their day to day routine happens to be, which might consist of going to work at a job they may not even really like, doing things they’re not really interested in doing, going through the motions with no real passion, with no enthusiasm.

These individuals may have once had a dream. Maybe at one point there was a larger vision for their lives, yet circumstances have caused the flame of passion that was lit in their hearts to go out. Perhaps they don’t even consciously realize it, but they’ve talked themselves out of their Soul’s Calling.

If that is you, I’m here to remind you of what, deep down, you already know: that is not the kind of life you were meant to live!

The life you were meant to live is one filled with overflowing joy and fulfillment! You are here because there is greatness in you that is seeking to be expressed! You are here because you set out to make a difference on this planet! You are here because there are gifts, skills, and talents within you that are seeking to be externalized! You are here because you have something to give, something to share! There is a unique pattern of perfection within you that it seeking to emerge! And your job is to make yourself available to it! Dare to have a vision, and dare to give that vision your sacred yes!

In Buddhism there is a form of “yes” known as tathata. What that means is saying “yes” so completely and so totally that you become one with your “yes.” There is no separation between you and your “yes.” That’s the kind of “yes” we’re talking about here.

And one more thing about your vision – this vision does not care how old you are, or how young you are; it does not care about what mistakes you think you’ve made, or how many opportunities you may have missed. Opportunities are everywhere, possibilities are endless, and age is meaningless in the mind of God.

So, as you may notice, there’s really not a whole lot of room for excuses. Because the truth is, no matter how much time has passed, no matter what past experience you may have had, your vision is right where you left it, and all it awaits is your sacred yes.

Do yourself a favor and give yourself permission to say “yes” to what wants to emerge in your life. You’ll be glad you did.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Part 2 of Dare To Have A Vision, in which we’ll be looking at some ways for how you can identify the larger vision for your life, and how you can make sure you’re on the path of following that vision.

Also, if you found any of this helpful, inspiring, or uplifting, please feel free to share it, or any of the articles on here to help get the word out.

Thanks for reading. And until next time.

Peace and Blessings!

When contemplating the idea of dreams, I’ve come up with an interesting new definition that I really like…

Our dreams are our Soul talking to us, reminding us of what we set out to do when we were first born into these physical bodies. They are our Soul reminding us – from the highest perspective – of what our unique contribution to this world was intended to be.

Dreams are not some lofty concept that our rational minds conjured up. They are our Soul saying, “This is what we were gonna do! This is what we came here for!”

And so it becomes our joyous and holy responsibility to honor our dreams, and to make choices that move us towards our dreams.

Each and every one of us was born with a unique set of gifts, skills, talents, and sensibilities. These always go hand in hand with our natural preferences, which are the things we like to do.

Yet while the Soul urges us to follow and honor our natural preferences, the rational mind may come in and say, “Nah, let’s just not do that! Nah, let’s just do what everyone else is doing! Let’s just go through the motions, let’s try and survive here. Let’s just try and do what we think is possible from our limited vantage point.”

All the while the Soul says, “No! Stop! Listen to me! Let’s do what we came here to do! Let’s fulfill our destiny!

Many people today have talked themselves out of doing what they really want to do. Some may not even know anymore what it is they really want to do. If you feel that’s you, my urging to you today would be, get back in touch with that silent place within, and rediscover your purpose in life. It doesn’t matter where you’re at right now, what your physical age is, or where you’ve been before; your point of power is in the Present Moment! And you can choose right now to move towards where you truly want to be.

But you must listen to your Soul! Listen to your Soul and give your rational mind a rest for a change. Just give it a break. That rational mind of yours’ been working overtime, it’s exhausted! Just give it a rest. Let your rational mind go on a well deserved vacation.

Why not give yourself permission, and lovingly tell your rational mind, “Thanks very much, I appreciate the input, but I’m moving on to a higher perspective! I’m breaking free from these perceptions of lack and limitation that have clouded my vision. I’m moving on up into my Soul Space!”

And if you’re already following the path of your dreams, just pause for a moment and give yourself permission to feel good about that. Just feel good. Just. Feel. Good. Allow yourself to notice that you’re on the right track, and allow for the possibility of miracles.

The life of your dreams is the life you came here to live.

The fourth and final part of this Best Year Of Your Life series is all about letting go of judging ourselves, letting go of comparing ourselves to others, and simply deciding to shine our own light fully and completely. It’s about embracing who we are, loving who we are, and then becoming the full embodiment of our highest potential through the sharing of our gifts, skills, and talents. Here are the links to the previous entries, if you would like to revisit them:

From the Comfort Zone to the Excellence Zone

Enlarging our Capacity to Receive & Surrendering to the Great Unfolding

Living for the Joy of Giving

And now, let’s wrap this thing up:

  • Understanding Your Uniqueness

In order for us to fully unlock all of our potential, it’s important that we realize our own uniqueness. Did you know that you are completely and totally unique? There is no one else who is exactly like you anywhere in the world. Almost seven billion people on the planet, but only one you. There is no one else who has your unique sensibilities, your unique point of view, your life experiences. You are truly one of a kind.

So easily we can get caught up in comparing ourselves to others. We notice something that we like in someone else, and then we start wanting to be like them. If only we could have their skills, their talents, their strengths. If only we could just be a little more like that. But whenever we think in such ways, we are giving away the gift of our own uniqueness. We’re trading in our own unique nature in order to try and be like someone else.

If we truly want to unleash our full potential, it’s important that we let go of comparing, and instead decide to be the only person we can ever be in this particular lifetime: ourselves.

Of course it’s great to have role models. I have quite a few of them myself. They are the ones that inspire us, we look to them as examples of what’s possible. Oftentimes they may act as our mentors, we may learn a great deal from them, and we may certainly be influenced by them. But there is a difference between looking up to a person we admire, and attempting to emulate that person.

Sure, in some cases we may even be quite similar. But we must always remember that, despite that, we are all on our own unique journey. It does no good to compare our own life journey to that of someone else. In fact, someone once said, “comparison is the fast track to misery.” And nothing could be more true.

Whenever pondering the idea of uniqueness, I love to think about the snowflake analogy.

Did you know that there are no two snowflakes that are exactly alike? Consider for a moment the countless numbers of snowflakes that form all across the world all throughout the year. At first glance they may all look the same. But if you were to examine each of them under a microscope, you’d find that not only are snowflakes made up of absolutely beautiful frozen crystal structures, but every single one of them is unique in the way and shape that these crystals are formed.

Well, and just like all snowflakes are unique, every single one of us is unique. And regardless of what experiences we may have had, regardless of what conditioning we may have picked up along the way, regardless of how flawed we may think we are, the truth is we are all perfect just the way we are.

In fact, let’s dig a little deeper into this idea of our own perfection. Are you ready for this? Are you truly willing to remind yourself of what at the soul-level you already know? Okay. Then here we go:

We are all unique ways in which Divine Intelligence is expressing and experiencing Itself right here on earth. Every single one of us is a unique idea in the mind of God, and as such we are all perfect just as we are. We are unique ways in which Love, Divine Beauty, Creativity, and GENIOSITY are happening on this planet.

Allow yourself to just take that in.

Does that resonate with you on some level?

Allow yourself to be reminded today of Who You Really Are. Allow yourself to remember that your existence didn’t begin with your birth in time in space. How could that even be? You’re not merely what you can see and feel with your physical senses. You are not a collection of flesh and bones that’s somehow learned to walk and talk and think and imagine and create and have dreams.

The truth is you are an eternal, infinite, timeless Being. You are pure Divine Intelligence. You are made up of pure one hundred percent God. That’s what’s meant by we are made in the image and likeness of God.

And, friends, you’re not here because you fell off a cloud, or because you have to prove yourself “worthy.” You are here BECAUSE YOU CHOSE TO BE HERE!

You’re here because you knew that coming here would be a great adventure! You knew at one point that life is an adventure that’s forever unfolding, and you knew that the very life you’re living right now would add immeasurably to your own joyous growth and expansion, and to the expansion of ALL THAT IS!

You came to this planet at this time in human history because you said you were going to express your gifts, skills, and talents; you said you were going to be a blessing by simply being yourself; you said you were going to become the embodiment of the Divine Qualities of Love, Joy, Health, Well-being, Prosperity, Harmony, Creativity, Beauty, Wisdom, Peace, and Eternal Joyous Expansion! You said you were going to let it rip!

You chose the exact time in history in which you’d be born; you chose your gender, your personality traits, your dreams and preferences; you chose your gifts, skills, and talents. And you made all of these choices from a vantage point that’s not limited to space, time, and the five senses. Much rather, you made these choices from the full, wondrous, limitless vantage point of the Infinite Being that you truly are!

Now. Ain’t it just grand to actually know this? Seriously. Isn’t it amazing to just even be considering the possibility?

Because the truth is, most people have become so fully absorbed in matters of space and time, the material things of life, that they’ve completely forgotten that they came from beyond space and time. They’ve lost touch with their connection to this broader perspective.

Let’s make a decision that that’s not going to be you and me!

Let’s decide that we’re going to live our lives from this place of heightened awareness, this place of remembrance. Let’s decide that we’re going to live what we’ve been calling the awakened life. Let’s decide that we’re going to live a conscious life.

A life lived consciously is one of the greatest gifts we could ever give to ourselves, and one of the most magnificent blessings we could ever receive.

  • Fall In Love With Your Magnificent Self

Once we’re able to get back to remembering the truth of ourselves and our reality, it becomes easier to perceive our own intrinsic perfection. Once we can truly begin to grasp that our life is not an accident, and that we are not at the mercy of forces that are external to us, we can begin to see that just perhaps we’re okay just the way we are. Just maybe we can start to let go of looking at what we think are our flaws and shortcomings, and we can start to notice that we’re actually doing just fine.

As I sat down to write this article, I felt guided and inspired to simply just remind us all of Who We Really Are. Because if we want to make 2012 our best year yet, if we want to go beyond all past limitation, if we want to live our lives at our highest potential, it’s important that we can love that person that we see every time we look in the mirror.

Begin to embrace the fact that your journey is uniquely yours. Realize that, just like the snowflake, you are completely unique, one of a kind, and like the snowflake’s crystal structures, absolutely beautiful and magnificent.

Start to consider that all the experiences you’ve had were necessary to simply get you to where you wanted to go. Start to realize that whatever your dreams are, whatever your aspirations, you are never as far off course as you may have thought. In fact, you are exactly where you need to be right now.

The entire Universe, All That Is, is supporting you in getting you to where you want to go. The life of your dreams truly is the life you came here to live!

And if you’re facing a challenge, have the courage to open yourself up to the idea that just perhaps there’s something for you to learn, just perhaps there’s an opportunity there for you to become more fully yourself. Start looking for the gift. Begin to ask, “What Divine Quality is seeking to emerge through me here?” And then make yourself available to it. By doing that, you are letting go of being a victim, and instead you begin to take charge of your life once again.

  • Shine Your Light, Sing Your Song, Dance Your Dance

Remember some of these questions that I asked in the post on ?

What are the things you enjoy doing?

What are you drawn to?

What are you passionate about?

What is it that you absolutely love?

The answers to these questions are signs that are pointing you towards your very reason for being here. So decide that you’re going to shine your light, sing your song, and dance your dance. Decide that you’re going to do what you came here to do. And let’s together declare these statements of intent:

“I choose to embrace the unique and wondrous nature of my own Being! I love myself, I appreciate myself, and I choose to fully shine my Light in my own, wonderfully unique way! I am available to what wants to unfold in my life! I am available to become the full embodiment of my highest potential! I know that I am One with All That Is, I know that my nature is one of Love, Light, and Beauty; and I am open to receiving the guidance and direction of my Highest Self! I am here to live an extraordinary life! I am here to live a joyous life! I am here to fully express all of my gifts, skills, and talents! I give thanks that this is now so, and with deep appreciation, I simply allow it to be! And so it is!”

A desire originating from a pure heart is a wonderful blessing. It’s part of the unfolding of the evolutionary impulse of the Universe.

What do we mean by “pure desire?”

A pure desire is one that comes from a place of Love, it originates in a place of joyous expansion.

It’s a desire free from lower energy frequencies such as fear, lust, greed, the need to control, the need to prove oneself, the need to be right. Those are all lower desires. Lower desires originate from a fearful and confused ego.

However, pure desire originates from Spirit.

Pure desire originates for one reason alone. For the sheer joy that it brings.

Pure desire is free from the baggage of fear. Instead, it radiates that pure, sweet, innocent, joyous quality that is at the heart of everything in nature.

As we grow and mature spiritually, our task is not to let go of desire. The contrary actually. Pure desire is always an indicator of how the Great Unfolding of Divine Qualities is to take shape in our lives. It’s an indicator towards how we can become more fully ourselves, how we can live our lives at our highest potential, how we can become the full embodiment of all that we came here to be.

Within the acorn is the pure desire to become an oak tree.

Within the larva is the pure desire to become a butterfly.

Within the newly planted seed is the pure desire to become a beautiful rose.

Everything in nature radiates pure desire.

It’s not something that must be controlled or obsessed over. It’s not something that requires us to manipulate events, people, and situations.

If left alone, if not resisted, a pure desire has already within itself the mechanics for its own fulfillment.

No one has to teach the acorn how to become an oak tree, no one has to show the larva how to become a butterfly, no one has to manipulate events in space and time to turn the seed into a beautiful rose.

Similarly, the acorn, the larva, and the seed do not worry about whether or not they’ll eventually become the full embodiment of their potential.

Instead, there is something within them, deep at their core, that just knows.

They relax. They are available. They simply allow it to be.

If we can simply relax, make ourselves available, and allow it to be, we will be in alignment with the Great Unfolding. We will be in alignment with All That Is.

Will we still need to take action?

Of course. But from this place of alignment, any action we take will be joyous. Every step along our journey will be one filled with delight, love, and beauty.

We’re not concerned with having to arrive someplace, because we’re already loving where we are. We’re loving the very journey itself.

Go within.

Listen to what wants to emerge.

And then, just like the acorn, the larva, and the seed, decide that you’re going to be available to it. Decide that you’re going to allow yourself to become the full embodiment of your highest potential.

Much Love and Blessings to you!

This is a continuation from Part 1 which gave us some suggestions for how to move out of the comfort zone of our thoughts, words and deeds into our Excellence Zone.

The aim of this Best Year Of Your Life series is to provide practical and easy to implement steps that we can take to shift our thoughts to change how we look at ourselves, the world, and our place in it. What we’re doing is breaking free from any and all old thought patterns of lack, limitation, and scarcity, and returning to our natural state of Love, Joy, Appreciation, and Well-being. So let’s evolve together and make 2012 our very best year yet.

  • Enlarging Our Capacity To Receive

Most of us place limits on how much good we’re willing to allow into our lives. We decide how blessed we’re going to be, how healthy our bodies will be, how much money flows to us, how fulfilling our relationships will be, and how many of our dreams will come true. This usually applies no matter where we are in life. No matter if you’re just starting out, or if you’ve already achieved a considerable amount of success in your life, chances are there’s a limit as to how far you’re willing to go.

Now, I do want to make sure there’s no misunderstanding here. I am not talking about merely chasing after more stuff; more money, bigger houses, more expensive cars. What I’m talking about is becoming greater expressions of ourselves. Material wealth can certainly be a part of that, but this also includes becoming more loving, having peace of mind, living in perfect health, having meaningful and fulfilling relationships in all areas of our lives.

Remember, we’re not here to try and make it. We are here to live extraordinary lives!

Reaching our fullest potential is all about releasing what’s been blocking us up until now. These blocks are usually unconscious, which means that becoming more conscious and deepening our awareness must be part of the process.

I believe in order for us to reach our fullest potential, we have to be willing to enlarge our capacity to receive. What I mean by that is that oftentimes we may be blocking what wants to come into our lives by thinking thoughts like, “it’s just too good to be true. This couldn’t possibly be happening to me.” Or perhaps we feel uncomfortable with receiving too much because we don’t think we deserve it. We’re afraid that by allowing too much good into our lives, we’re depriving someone else of their good.

All of these are thoughts that are born out of an erroneous belief in scarcity and judgement.

Scarcity because we think there’s a limited amount of good to go around, which has created an us vs them mentality where we imagine that there’s others with whom we must compete for these goods.

Judgement because we believe we must live up to some kind of ideal and prove ourselves worthy before we can receive all that we’ve desired.

I would like to invite you today to let go of this kind of thinking once and for all!

No matter where you’ve been in the past, no matter how many setbacks you’ve had, no matter how many mistakes you think you’ve made, you are meant for Greatness right here and right now!

Be willing to enlarge your capacity for how much good you’re going to allow into your life. Break past those past limitations, and realize that anything you can dream or imagine the Universe is well able to bring into your life.

Listen to what it is that wants to emerge. And then make yourself available to it.

Surrender to it by reminding yourself, “Today I am available to possibility! I am available to what wants to unfold in my life!”

And instead of saying, “it’s too good to be true,” turn it around by declaring:

“It’s so good, it MUST be true!”

Make this your new response whenever an unexpected blessing or an opportunity comes into your life. Repeat it as often as you must to allow it to become a natural part of how you view life. Say it until you really believe it. Make it your mantra: “It’s so good, it MUST be true! It’s so good, it MUST be true! It’s so good, it MUST be true!”

And once we’ve began to enlarge our capacity to receive, our next step becomes surrendering. Surrendering to what? To the Great Unfolding.

  • Surrendering To The Great Unfolding

Did you know that there’s an everlasting and eternal unfolding of good that’s happening all over the cosmos? Most people are not only unaware of this, they’re also not used to even considering the possibility. So let’s examine this a little closer for a moment.

I think we can all agree that everything in the Universe, seen and unseen, can ultimately be traced back to one Source. Whether we call this Source God, Allah, the Christ Presence, Infinite Intelligence, Divine Mind, the Infinite Field, or any other name, isn’t really important. But what we can easily deduce from just looking at the world around us is that this Source must be loving and benevolent. There is evidence for this all over the place. The most obvious being that the universe is even here in the first place, able to sustain itself. If the Source behind its creation was malevolent, evil, or destructive, by its very nature, the universe would have self destructed a long time ago.

But instead, the universe not only continues to exist, it expands at an astronomical rate. Isn’t it amazing that the gravitational forces in our solar system are so precise that all of the planets remain in perfect orbit around the sun? And this isn’t just a random occurrence; there’s billions of solar systems like ours all across the galaxy.

The New Testament quotes Jesus as asking us to look at the lilies of the field, stating that they do not labor or spin, but not even King Solomon in all his splendor was dressed as magnificent as they. He then went on to say, if that is how God takes care of the grass in the field, how much more will God take care of you?

I love that analogy. The same applies all over nature. And it invites us to surrender and simply trust the Source from which we came.

Look at the birds, they don’t worry about what they’re going to eat next, and yet, they’re always taken care of. Their needs are always supplied. The same goes for any animal anywhere in nature. Have you ever seen a stressed out duck? Or a worried penguin? Of course not! Everything in nature is part of what I like to refer to as the Great Unfolding, or the Great Cosmic Unfolding.

The Great Cosmic Unfolding is the eternal unfolding of Good, Love, Joy, Well-being, Health, Harmony, Prosperity, Beauty, Creativity, Generosity, and Freedom!

All of these are what we can look at as Divine Qualities. And each and every one of them is your birthright.

But here’s the twist. What’s the difference between the duck and the penguin who are never worried, and the human being who walks around in fear and anxiety?

The human being has something that the duck and penguin do not: self-reflective awareness.

Self-reflective awareness means you’re able to think about what you’re thinking about. You’re able to look at yourself and observe yourself. The duck and the penguin (as far as we can tell) can’t do that. The duck has no choice but to be a duck, the penguin has no choice but to be a penguin. You, however, always have a choice. You’re free to choose what you’re going to be, by choosing what you’re going to think. And there’s another term for this: free will.

Free will is what makes us different from everything else in nature. Free will gives us a choice. It gives us the choice of whether we’re going to participate in the Great Unfolding, or not.

Consider the sun. The sun always shines. It’s bright, radiant, it lights up the entire sky. But here’s the thing: the sun has no choice but to shine. That’s just what the sun does. It doesn’t get up one morning and say, “I don’t really feel like shining today. In fact, I’m getting a little fed up with this whole shining business. You know what? Screw this, I think I’m just gonna quit shining all together!”

That would be ridiculous, wouldn’t it? But you see, that is the choice that you get to make each and every day.

You get to choose whether or not you’re going to shine your light. You get to choose whether or not you’re going to be kind, loving, and compassionate; you get to choose whether or not you’re going to share your gifts, skills and talents; you get to choose whether or not you’re going to be available to the bountiful supply of good that wants to emerge in your life.

Make a choice today that, just like the sun, you’re going to shine your light!

We enlarge our capacity to receive by letting go of scarcity and judgement, and then we surrender to the Great Cosmic Unfolding by making ourselves available each and every day to the Divine Qualities that are seeking to emerge.

Get up every morning and say:

“I am available to the Good today! I am available to Love! I am available to Joy! I am available to Well-being! I am available to Prosperity! Today I am going to be a channel to allow these Divine Qualities to express and reveal themselves! Today I am going to shine my light!”

And then watch what happens. As you go about your days, you’ll start noticing these little changes. Doors will open for you, opportunities will appear, dreams and desires that you’ve held will suddenly start manifesting, and before long, you’ll find yourself looking around, wondering, “how did I ever end up HERE? How did my life ever get THIS AMAZING???”

So remember that you are a Limitless Being, and that the life of your dreams (whatever that may be for you) is the life you were meant to live!

Much Love and Blessings to you!

So here we are. Three weeks into the new year. A new beginning. Another year filled with endless possibilities and new opportunities for expansion.

Of course really every moment is a new beginning. In each and every moment we have the opportunity to start over and begin again. But it seems that whenever we arrive at the beginning of a new year, for many people the possibility of starting over seems to come more into focus.

Chances are you may be one of these people. If so, you may have declared some kind of new years resolution, some change that you’re seeking to make in 2012. Or maybe you’re one of the people who don’t think too much of new years resolutions, for the simple reason that they never really seem to amount to all that much. How often have we heard of or known someone who’s made some great enthusiastic declaration for how they’re going to improve their life in the new year, only to find that they seem to have forgotten all about it usually around halfway through January?

I believe new years resolutions are usually flawed for a very simple reason: we’ve only focused on stating what our goal or intentionality is, but we haven’t spent enough time actually coming into alignment with it. Or in other words, we haven’t spent enough time changing our habitual thought and behavior patterns to conform to the new lifestyle that we’d like to cultivate.

Simply put — it’s the old habits that are cancelling out the new goals or intentions.

So rather than encouraging you to stick with a specific new years resolution, I’d like to suggest a different approach. If you truly want to make 2012 your best year yet, I would suggest considering changing some of your habitual ways of looking at yourself, your life, and the world around you. Perception creates reality. The way you look at things determines what your experience will be — every single time, no exceptions.

To some degree we’ve all allowed ourselves to be conditioned in one way or another when it comes to how we look at the world and our place in it — be it either by well meaning friends or family, or the media. Moving away from our old perceptions which are usually fear based and reflect an erroneous and chronic belief in lack, scarcity and limitation, into a new perception that is in alignment with the Divine qualities of Love, Joy, Peace and Well-being, is what I’m calling moving out of the comfort zone into the Excellence Zone.

  • Move Into Your Own Personal Excellence Zone

Did you know we all have our own personal Excellence Zone? What I mean by that is that we all have something at which we’re naturally good at, which also happens to be something that we love to do. It’s been called passion, hobbies, interests, talents, dreams. Well, while all those words are certainly accurate descriptions, I like to sum all of them up by referring to them as our own personal Excellence Zone.

What are some of the things you like to do? What are you naturally drawn to? What things are you passionate about? What are your skills and talents? If you carefully examine those questions, you will find that the answers to all of them have some things in common. You’ve just found your first clue to your reason for being here.

Once you’ve done that, you can then ask yourself the following question: if time and money weren’t an issue (which they aren’t, by the way), what would I be doing with my life?

And then pay attention. Listen to that Inner Voice.

Whatever it’s pointing you towards, pursuing it is what puts you on the path to your own personal Excellence Zone.

But what’s happened is that so many of us have gotten stuck in the opposite zone — the comfort zone. And, yes, while the comfort zone may sound alluring at first glance, let’s not be fooled by it. One of our inherent natures it to be ever expansive, to evolve beyond what we’ve been before, to grow and become greater versions of ourselves, to increase our capacities for sharing our gifts, skills and talents, to find new ways for being of service and for being a beneficial presence on the planet.

  • Making Excellence in Thought, Word, and Deed our Daily Habit

Remember the main challenge we talked about when it comes to new years resolutions? Letting go of the old habits and coming into alignment with whatever your resolution was. Alignment is the key here. In order to create real lasting change in our lives, we must be in alignment in thought, word, and deed.

So to move out of the comfort zone into the Excellence Zone, we must ensure that our thoughts, words, and deeds reflect the excellence that we’re reaching for. Our words and deeds flow out of our thoughts, so naturally our thoughts is where it all must start. Now, how might we go about making this shift? I believe the best way to sum it up is this:

Every thought that you have is either a thought of Love or a thought of fear. There is nothing else to choose from but Love and the absence of love, which is fear.

In our society we’ve been trained to come from a place of fear. But we’ve been trained so well that we don’t even realize it most of the time. In fact, we think it’s normal! We think it’s normal to be worried, to imagine worst case scenarios by projecting our fears into the future. We think it’s normal to walk around complaining, being dissatisfied in one way or another. We think it’s normal to blame others, be it a spouse, our parents, our employer, or the government. You ask someone how they’re doing, and oftentimes they’ll tell you, “I’m hanging in there. I’m trying to make it. I’m okay, I guess.”

Enough of that!

You’re not here to try and make it, you’re here to thrive, you’re here to radiate and embody the qualities of Love, Joy, Well-being, Health, Prosperity, Generosity, Creativity, Beauty, and Success! You’re here to live an extraordinary life!

The life of your dreams is the life you were meant to live!

But as a result of these conditioned habitual patterns, it can feel easier sometimes to reach for those mediocre thoughts, thus perpetuating our comfort zone. Well, I’m here to invite you to break free. I’m here to invite you to create change from the inside out.

Why not begin every day with saying, “today I am available to Love. Today I am available to Possibility. I am willing to let Excellence express and reveal itself through me in all areas of my life. I am willing to allow Love to pour through me. I am willing to go beyond of what I previously thought was possible. Love is the very activity of my consciousness!”

Then ask yourself, “if Love was the only thing I was capable of, what would my life look like? What would my life look like if the only response I knew was Love? How would I interact with those around me? What thoughts would I be thinking? What actions would I be taking?”

And then allow that vision to form in your awareness. Allow it to be as vivid as possible. Don’t censor it, don’t judge it. Just allow it to form. What you’re doing is planting a seed, you’re becoming more conscious.

As you become more conscious, you’ll start catching yourself whenever you’re coming from fear. You’ll realize it when it’s happening. It won’t be automatic anymore. And that’s when you realize that you actually have a choice.

Freedom comes from the realization that we have a choice.

When those thoughts come that tell you why you can’t accomplish your dream or why you’re not good enough, you can switch that around by reminding yourself, “Today I am available to Possibility. I am willing to go beyond of what I previously thought was possible. I am available to Excellence.”

When you find yourself getting frustrated, annoyed, or you have that urge to complain about something (or someone), you can switch it around by asking, “What if Love was the only response I knew? What if Love was the only thing I was capable of?”

When you feel the urge to judge a situation, a person, or yourself, just say, “What if I loved unconditionally? What would my response look like then?”

Quite a shift compared to our normal way of thinking, isn’t it? It’s radical. Well, it may seem radical, but that’s what we’re here for, to start making these shifts and live the awakened life.

Now, let me finish with this: it’s important that whenever you do find yourself reacting from a place of fear, anger or frustration, be easy on yourself.

Don’t judge yourself. It’s all good. This is a continual process that can show its full effects only when practiced on a regular basis.

I hope you find this helpful. Feel free to share your comments as I would love to hear from you. Also, if you have any questions or would like further clarification, please let me know.

Let’s grow together!

Let’s make 2012 our best year yet!

Peace and Blessings to you!

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by!

Awakened Life Now is intended to be a place of inspiration and empowerment, a place that reminds us all of the greatness inherent in every one of us.

I want to take just a moment here to share with you why I’ve felt inspired to start this blog, and what my overall vision and intention for it is.

I’m a writer, and have been for some time now. Primarily my focus has been and continues to be screenwriting. I first started writing when I was about sixteen or seventeen, but I had never really seen myself as a writer until I’d moved from Germany to the United States back in 2004. That’s when, one thing leading to another, I started what ultimately grew into a popular script based virtual series. A virtual series is a series published in written form on the internet that releases episodes on a regular (usually weekly) basis, very much like a television series.

Ever since I’ve also written several pilots and feature films, and right now I’m getting those scripts out there in order to find an agent, sell a script and/or get a job as a writer in either film or television.

But for some time now I’ve been having this feeling that there’s also something else that I’ve been wanting to do, something that I feel as much drawn to as I do to filmmaking. It can be tricky to articulate these things, but the best way I can describe it is that it’s a desire to share what I’ve come to find are some universal principles that, if applied in your life, will have a profound impact.

I think we can all agree that there is something that we, humanity as a whole, have not quite understood about life. Because had we understood it, the world would not be in the condition that it’s in right now. So there must be something that humans have misunderstood, and if they understood it, if they really got it, it would change the entire world.

Well, I believe this something relates as much to humanity as a whole as it does to every single one of us as individuals. It’s only once we transform ourselves that we transform the world. Gandhi has been quoted as saying, “be the change you want to see in the world.” And that’s, in a nutshell, what this is about.

Awakened Life Now is a blog about change.

It’s the change that comes from awakening to our true nature.

It’s the change that positively affects all parts of our life and transforms them into areas of love, joy, beauty, well-being, and expansion.

If I had to sum it up, I would say the core message behind all of it is this:

  • You are a Limitless Being, infinitely more powerful than you may have realized. And whatever your dream is, it’s your indicator of how you can make a difference in the world. The life of your dreams is the life you were meant to live.

I’d like you to really take in those words above. Reread them, memorize them. Heck, you could even print them out and put them somewhere where you’ll always see them. Because those words represent the truth about you, your life, and your very purpose for being here.

Too often we’ve talked ourselves into believing that a dream is like some lofty idea of what we wish our lives would be like. We think that going after our dream will be hard, painful, and ultimately doomed to failure. So instead we’ve resigned ourselves to just “trying to make it.” And to rationalize it, we buy into limiting beliefs that justify why we can’t go after our dream, why it’s impossible, and why things are as they are.

Well, I’m here to tell you, to remind you: none of that is true! The life of your dreams is the life you were meant to live!

But here’s the thing, you’re also an Unlimited Being, infinitely more powerful than you may have realized, remember? So that means it’s up to you. In order to live the life of your dreams, you first have to make the decision that you will. In fact, you’re so powerful that whatever you think, say, and believe, immediately manifests as your experience of life.

Wow, there’s another thing I’d like you to really take in:

  • Whatever you think, say, and believe, manifests as your experience of life.

In other words, there is no outside power or force that has any influence or control over you, unless — and here is the catch – you believe there is.

So it’s really all about what you believe. And you can put that to a test right now. What do you believe about what you’ve read here so far? Does any of it resonate with you? Does it make sense? Do you agree? Do you disagree? Pay close attention to what comes up, and then ask yourself, is what I’m believing right now helping me? Is what I believe empowering me?

If the answers to those questions are, yes, then don’t change anything about what you believe. You see, I’m not here to try and convince you of anything. Much rather would I like for you to simply look within, examine your own consciousness, examine your life, find out what’s true for you. My hope and prayer would be that you simply remember about yourself what, at the deepest level of your awareness, you already know. And then be the living embodiment of that — be the wonderful Being that you came here to be, follow your passions, go after your dreams, and freely share all of your gifts and talents. That’s the greatest gift you can give to the world.

And if you find a belief that does not empower you, a belief that limits you, here’s some more good news: you can change your beliefs at any time. You can let go of any and all limiting beliefs, and the first step to letting them go is to simply be aware of them.

My desire is for this blog to be both inspirational as well as practical. So in future articles I will be giving you some very practical tips for what actions you can take in your life on a day to day basis in order to create the change you want to see.

For further information on my own background as well as more on the visioning behind this blog, please be sure to check out the as well as the Awakened Life Now Mission Statement.

But for now, let me finish with this: it’s the beginning of a brand new year, and what a wonderful time to embrace the countless opportunities that life has to offer. So why not make a decision right now that this will be your year. Let 2012 be the year where you take your life to the next level, let it be the year in which you release all the brakes and empower yourself to have all the love, joy, happiness, success, prosperity, health, well-being and fulfilling relationships that you’ve always wanted.

Let 2012 be your year!

Let it be your best year yet!

Peace and blessings!
