Developing and cultivating a simple and child-like faith in the fundamental goodness of Life is one of the most powerful things we can ever do. I speak from my own personal experience when I tell you that as you learn to simply trust Life, as you walk in the awareness that all things are working together for your good, you will begin to see a shower of blessings rain upon you like never before. You invariably come to find that your job is never to try and make something happen, but to simply be a conscious and willing participant in the unfolding of the everlasting good. Your job is to say “yes!” to the divine gift that keeps on giving. Soon you realize that all that’s really left to do is to circulate more of the good. So you become both a recipient as well as a distributor of the divine blessings.
Happiness is our natural state of being. Yet we are not talking about happiness for any particular reason. Much rather are we referring to happiness as a continual sense of peace, joy, love, harmony, and inner fulfillment. The truth is not one thing needs to change in the external in order for us to experience this. The fastest way to enter into this natural state of well-being is to engage in the practice of radical gratitude. When we are thankful not merely for what we have labeled good or desirable, but instead when we make gratitude our way of life—appreciating the very gift of existence itself—we will have created a powerful shift in our perspective. Suddenly we realize that it is not necessary to base our happiness on what seems to be occurring at the surface level of our lives. Rather than relying on condition-based happiness, we have uncovered the source of true happiness which can only be found within. And as we make living from that place our priority, naturally the seeming outer reality cannot help but rearrange itself around our new internal state of being.
Spirit loves you so much it has imparted the entirety of itself into you. In other words, within you are all of the divine qualities and creative capacities of the Infinite. This is the meaning of having been made in the spiritual image and likeness of God. Yet as a being of free will you always have the option to choose. You can choose to embody and express your true nature, which includes but is not limited to love, joy, geniosity, ingenuity, creativity, peace of mind, well-being and generosity. Or you can choose to block the flow of these divine qualities by holding on to lesser, fear-based perceptions. Today, make it your practice to meditate on the higher qualities that are within you seeking to be set free. Decide that you are going to consciously tune into them and invite them to express through you. As this becomes your priority, the windows of your perception are cleansed, and rather than waiting for a blessing to occur, you realize with sweet delight that you are the blessing!
We live in a society where it seems to be the norm to always be focused upon arriving at some future moment. Many individuals are going through their days rushing getting from one thing to another, never stopping to take in the splendor and beauty that can be found only in the here and now. Today, give yourself permission to live each moment to its fullest by pausing every now and then, by giving thanks for the marvelous blessings that surround you, and by basking in the feeling tonality of enormous appreciation. Stop for just a moment to watch a beautiful sunset, or contemplate the enormous radiance of a blooming flower in springtime. Realize that life is not about arriving at some place in the future, it is about the journey itself. And the journey is always ongoing. It never ends. So enjoy this never-ending journey that is your very unfolding by enjoying the present moment. And enjoy the present moment by being in a continuous state of awe and wonder for what Life has freely given to you out of itself. Then you will see that it is all very good indeed.
