We live in a world where most of us believe that how Life works – how it actually functions at its deepest level – is ultimately unknowable.

Or if it’s not unknowable, surely it must be very complicated. And so we reason that the understanding of how Life works must be reserved for only the very few and far in between. As a result, what happens is that a lot of us don’t even bother with trying to understand it simply because we think that the very attempt is futile.

My friend, thankfully none of the above assumptions are true!

Life is not complicated.

Life is actually quite simple.

Once you can get this, your life instantly becomes a demonstration of joy.

Now, we may have been taught to believe that it’s complicated, which is exactly why so many of us are struggling. But what I’m here to remind you is that struggling is so unnecessary. We could even say it’s outdated.

And let’s be clear. This has nothing to do with beliefs. I am not here to try and get you to believe in anything. And I certainly can’t speak to what your experience of life is or is not at this very moment. Yet what we’re talking about here transcends beliefs. It goes beyond the realm of mental concepts and labels, which is from where most of us usually live our lives – trapped inside of a narrow maze of ideas, concepts, and mental patterns that we believe are the truth. And so if someone else comes along with another set of ideas and mental patterns, we tend to consider their patterns wrong and ours right. And how dare they not see that?

In extreme cases, we may even try to physically harm someone if we don’t agree with them. And in the cases of nations, gosh, we might just even go to war! After all, this other worldview doesn’t match our own, and naturally ours must be the correct one! If you think that’s an exaggeration, take a look at history and you will see that this has happened over and over again.

So all this to say, you won’t find the answer to how Life works (which is inevitably connected to your level of joy) within the confines of beliefs. Let me say that again, because this is a big one:

You won’t find the answer to how Life works within the confines of beliefs.

So what you must learn to do instead is go beyond beliefs and look to experience.

You see, here’s the thing about beliefs. A belief is really just a thought that’s running on auto pilot. In other words, you’ve thought this particular thought so many times that it’s become automatic. You don’t even realize anymore that it’s just a thought.

Ah. But now I can hear you say, “Well, it’s not just a thought, it’s the truth! I can see that it’s the truth! There’s evidence of it all over the place! The reason I believe what I believe is because I’ve experienced that it’s the truth!”

Okay. Fair enough. At first glance that even seems to make sense, right?

Or is it possible that maybe, just maybe, we’re approaching something from a backwards perspective here?

You see, now we’re getting into this whole understanding of how Life and Reality works business. And basically what it comes down to is this:

Your seemingly outer reality always and with no exception will reflect your internal state of being back to you. The Universe is like your Spiritual Mirror, always showing you what your thoughts, beliefs and expectations are in any given moment.

This is how you’ve been creating your experience in every single moment of your life. We’ve all heard that we create our reality. Well, this is how we do it.

So if you think people can’t be trusted and are out to get you, then that will be your experience. If, on the other hand, you think you live in a friendly Universe, where most people are friendly and things usually work out, then that will be your experience. And if you think that life is hard and a struggle or that there’s never enough money (big one), then you will constantly find yourself in situations in which you’ll be struggling and you won’t have enough money. But if you tend to think of yourself as someone who’s successful and generally excels at what you set out to do, then you’ll find yourself living experiences in which exactly that will be the case.

My friend, it’s that simple. It is one of the fundamental basics of how Life works, it’s what Spiritual Masters across the ages have been trying to get us to understand time and time again, it’s even what modern science (quantum physics) is now starting to prove – and it contradicts everything that mainstream thinking would have us believe.

And mainstream thinking – based on what I’ve observed anyway – looks something like this: we live in a world where we are separate from everything around us. We are separate from other people, we are separate from nature, and certainly we’re separate from God. We’re so separate from God, in fact, that some of us even question whether or not there is a God. We’ve reduced the Divine, the Source of All That Is, the Ineffable Infinite Intelligence that permeates everything in existence, to yet another mental concept that one can either believe in or not.

Man, I don’t know about you, but I gotta say, just thinking about that kinda feels exhausting. Let alone going through your entire life with that mentality! No wonder so many people are always on the defense and approaching life with some level of fear, either consciously or unconsciously. If you live your life thinking that you’re separate from everything around you, that you have no power whatsoever (or if you do, it’s extremely limited in the grander scheme of things), and that you’re at the mercy of some mysterious forces beyond your control — well, yeah, at some point that’s just gonna have to freak you out!

But I’m here to remind you today that… there is another way to live your life!

But remember, this isn’t about me trying to get you to believe anything. This goes beyond beliefs.

So what I’d suggest to you is to just take in what you’ve read here. Take it in and, if you like, examine your own life. Take a look at what your beliefs actually are. Are you generally at peace? Is your life one filled with joy and happiness? Do you experience all the love you want to experience? Do you feel fulfilled in your work, in your relationships? In your health? How about your finances?

Just notice it.

And then, if there’s an area of your life where you’d like to see an improvement, ask yourself… what do I believe about this area of my life? What do I believe about money? What do I believe about my career? What do I believe about health? What do I believe about my relationships?

And then you might ask… what if there’s another way of looking at this? What if there’s another way? Maybe I had closed myself off to this other perspective? But what if… WHAT IF… what if there’s another way of looking at this?

Just make yourself available to the possibility!

It might feel like a challenge at first, but as you begin to make this your practice, you’ll start to notice that your Consciousness begins to expand. You see, the second you put a question before the Universe you will receive an answer. But you must look for the answer. You must be open to it.

The truth is, you are the Creator of your own destiny.

You’re creating your life with every thought, action, and desire; with every feeling and every intentionality that you have.

Perhaps the reason you’re reading this is because something within you has placed this text before you, something within you is looking to experience more joy, something within you is trying to get you to remember what, at the deepest level of your Being, you’ve always known.

But as always, you get to choose whether or not that’s true for you. That’s the whole idea of free will, freedom of choice.

You get to choose what this life of yours is going to be about. Now, doesn’t that just make you smile? The utter perfection of it? The utter perfection of Life Itself.

So what are you choosing today? What you choose will greatly impact what your experience is going to be.

So why not choose… in favor of joy?
